Leona Lewis Launching Vegan Fashion Line

Leona Lewis is currently best known for her hit single Bleeding Love. But, pretty soon she may be known for something more, well, wearable.

A staunch animal rights supporter, Leona hopes that her vegan fashion line will give fellow vegans more options, much like Portman's line of shoes.

A source tells British magazine Hello:
“She’s always adored animals since she was a little girl and has been a vegetarian since the age of 12. The reason she doesn’t wear diamonds is because she doesn’t know how they have been sourced. It was for this reason that she is determined to set up her own ethical fashion range and sell the goods at high street prices.”

Natalie Portman Launches Vegan Shoe Line

Natalie Portman is an amazing actress and a true activist. She may not be a vegan when it comes to the food she eats, but she definitely makes sure that the clothes she wears are not made from any animal products.

She has launched a line of vegan shoes, saying, "As a vegan, it’s been challenging finding designer shoes made of alternative materials. This collection offers a great selection without compromising quality or style."

Portman’s shoes are available online at TeCasan.com and at the NYC boutique located at 382 West Broadway. Some 5% of profits from her shoe line goes towards charity.

Goings On Around Town: The Face Parlour Launch Party

We've mentioned Face Parlour before, but allow us to re-introduce.

Face Parlour was founded by Lauren Fornes, an esthetician with a goal to "democratize radiant skin." She found her calling after a successful career in luxury marketing and her own personal struggle with adult acne. Lauren loves to help her clients feel and look great, all while knowing the real ingredients in the products. Through the FaceParlour site, she shares her expertise and research with the hope of directing clients to skin care products that are effective, safe, and sustainable.

On April 22nd Face Parlour held a party at Spring in San Francisco for their official launch! Lauren greeted everyone as they walked in through the door. After being greeted by Lauren, guests were free to view the products of Spring, nibble on snacks, drink organic vodkas, and mingle amongst themselves.

Congratulations to Lauren and FaceParlour, we hope to be celebrating many anniversaries with you!

Sweet Beauty

Sweetbeautyspa.com offers products that are truly sweet. Their body, face and lips collections are made completely to resemble the essence of chocolate.

They're made completely with Organic Fair Trade Certified Chocolate (that's an idea we like!), but I don't know how I feel about spreading chocolatey goodness all over my body. I love chocolate just as much as the next girl, but do I really want it going places other than into my stomach? I might be tempted to eat my body scrub.

And would spreading chocolate on my body really satisfy those chocolate cravings the same way a luscious Godiva truffle can? I just don't know.

Organic...Vodka?

What exactly is organic vodka? Square One vodka has brought the green scene onto a whole new level. Claiming to be made out of 100% organic American rye, this vodka is supposed to go down richer and smoother than than any other brand on the market.

Its founders have joined the many other fabulous companies stationed in California and have generously decided to give a part of their profits to land and water environmental causes, in addition to other social responsibility charities. To take it a step further, their products will be using recycled paper for their label, packaging, and all PR materials. I think this is a great idea.

Crazy nights on the town are no longer a reason to forget the green. Just be drink responsibly or you might be forgetting more than the green scene.
